The New7Wonders of the Nature Reserve List
For the latest monthly ranking of the top 14 Reserve List nominees, please see the bottom of this page.
The Reserve List contains nominees from the second phase of the Official New7Wonders of Nature that qualified as one of the top 77 nominees from over 440 nominees participating, but that did not qualify as one of the 28 Official Finalist Candidates announced on 21 July 2009.
These nominees also qualify to be on the Reserve List in virtue of their status as having an Official Supporting Committee and in special recognition of their campaign efforts during the second phase. Reserve List locations are not eligible to be voted as one of the Official New7Wonders of Nature, unless they are promoted as described here.
These locations will remain on the Reserve List for the entire duration of the Official New7Wonders of Nature, unless promoted. You can continue to support participants on the Reserve List by using the international telephone voting line (there is no web voting and no national telephone voting for the Reserve List), and details on how to support by telephone are provided below.
Very important: should one of the 28 Official Finalist Candidates be suspended and then eliminated from the Official New7Wonders of Nature campaign, for example for non observation of the rules of participation, then New7Wonders will select a replacement Official Finalist Candidate from the top seven Reserve List nominees.
Although we expect all 28 Official Finalist Candidates to fully observe the rules of participation, there may be an unexpected situation where an elimination is decided, which then will offer a chance for one of the highest-ranked Reserve List locations.
You can support the Reserve List locations using the international telephone voting line, available 24 hours a day, for you to call and vote at any time, from any international telephone line anywhere in the world.
How to vote by telephone in three easy steps:
- Dial one of these international telephone numbers:
+44 87 218 400 07
+44 20 334 709 01 - At the end of the message, after the tone, insert the 4 digit code for your chosen Reserve List location
- When you hear the thank you message, you are all done - you have voted by telephone !
Example: to vote for Al-hasa Oasis, telephone the international voting line, listen to the message, wait for the tone and then insert code 9901.
4 digit codes for each Reserve List location, in alphabetical order:
HELP WITH USING THE INTERNATIONAL TELEPHONE VOTING LINE:
- + is the symbol for international access code, this may be 00 or 011 or some other code used before the country code when dialling internationally.
- This is an international call, so you can only use normal telephones that are allowed to make international telephone calls. If you cannot make the call it could be because the telephone you are using is not allowed to make international telephone calls, or because it uses a VOIP, internet or Skype or other discount service that may restrict some international calls.
- Remember to insert your 4 digit code after the message and after you hear the tone, or otherwise your vote will not be counted. If you insert the code before the tone, if you insert your code too quickly or if you insert a wrong code, your vote will not be counted.
- Calls to the international telephone voting line will cost you whatever your telephone provider normally charges you to call a UK telephone number, and costs will vary by country and provider. This is a standard international telephone call. If you want to know the exact cost, please check with your telephone provider before making the call.
- Calls last about one minute, if you follow the simple voting procedure correctly.
- Make sure you have the permission of the telephone bill payer before calling.
- We cannot guarantee that you will be able to use the international telephone voting line. There may be technical or other reasons outside of our control that stop you from calling this line.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL TELEPHONE VOTING LINE:
- The telephone service is governed by the rules outlined in the Terms and Conditions .
- The international telephone voting line is a unique and special service provided by New7Wonders, and it may be withdrawn or modified at any time.
- This is the only voting option for the Reserve List locations. There are no national telephone options and there is no web voting for the Reserve List locations.
- Voting for the 28 Official Finalist Candidates is possible via this website, as well as via the international telephone line, and where possible national voting telephone lines and national SMS mobile text voting.
