The Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

The New7Wonders team 's visit to Egypt honored the Pyramids at Giza, the only remaining monument of the Ancient 7 Wonders of the World.

Before meeting with many members of the Egyptian and international press, Bernard Weber ceremoniously buried the official certificate of candidacy in the sand close to the Pyramids, offering it to the Pharaohs, whose spirits live in these extraordinary structures. As the sole Ancient Wonder still standing, the Pyramids have a unique status among the 21 finalists in the campaign.
